![]() Core AdhesivesCORE-BOND products are polyester-based lightweight core-bedding compounds designed for bonding fibreglass-to-fibreglass laminates or resin coated wood to fibreglass laminates. An overview for the most commonly used products is provided below. Custom formulations can be provided CORE-BOND B71 is an MEKP catalysed gun-applied polyester based core-bedding compound, developed specifically for the hand lay-up of foam and balsa cores. For this reason it has a faster gel time and lower viscosity than both BPO catalysed hand-applied Core-Bond B70 and gun-applied BPO catalysed B73. However, like Core-Bond, B70 and B73, Core-Bond B71 is a two-part system working in conjunction with a catalysed priming resin applied to the bonding surface of the core. B71 delivers a perfect fan pattern when applied with the appropriate spray equipment and does not require trowelling. Like all Core-Bond compounds, B71 is lighter than mat and resin layers, has lower exotherm and shrinkage, less print through, and more reliable elimination of voids under the core. CORE-BOND B75 is an MEKP catalysed polyester based core bedding compound designed to be sprayed with a positive displacement pump and internal mix gun. Core-Bond B75 has a 45-minute working time perfectly suited to vacuum-bagging as well as hand lay-up. Like all Core-Bond compounds, B75 is lighter than mat and resin, has lower exotherm and shrinkage, less print through, and a more reliable elimination of voids under the core. CORE-BOND B73 is a gun-applied polyester based core-bedding compound, developed for both hand-lay up and vacuum bagging (to minimum of 1/32" thickness) applications. Like Core-Bond B70, it is a two-part system working in conjunction with a catalysed priming resin applied to the bonding surface of the core. Lightweight and non-sagging Core-Bond B73 utilizes the lower viscosity Norac Benox L40LV for the gun application. B73 is "splattered" on to the fibreglass surface by the gun and spread with a notched trowel to achieve uniform minimum 1/32" thickness. The pump application of Core-Bond B73 eliminates hand mixing of the catalyst into the Core-Bond thus reducing application time and ensuring consistent mixing and gel times. With shrinkage of less than 1%, Core-Bond B73 significantly reduces the possibility of print-through. Technical Sheets
