Our Core-Cell foam, with its superior impact resistance and elongation properties, is ideal for board construction. It is easy to cut, sand and shape and can be used with Epoxy or Polyester resin. Typically, we recommend A500 80Kg/m3, often in conjunction with the SP115 UV stable epoxy laminating system, which doubles up as a coating when a clear finish is required.
For example, the 138 x 40 cm Edge Carbon Board was constructed with A500 Core-Cell 15mm Foam, one layer RE210D Glass and one layer RC200T Carbon. 115 Epoxy Resin was used for laminating and coating and the board was then varnished with SP Ultravar 2000 Polyurethane Varnish. The inserts were embedded with a Microfibre/Silica mix, to produce an overall board weight of only 2.1 kg.
