![]() ToolingAs a leading supplier of composite materials to the wind energy, marine and automotive markets, SP is aware of the quality, performance and longevity issues of composite tooling, particularly with components too large for an autoclave. Ambient Curing Tooling ProductsThe new range of ambient curing tooling products is suitable for production boatyards that specialise in high quality, gel coated parts from a female mould. These products will help customers to achieve a high gloss finish, with no print-through from the mould surface or backing structure. T-Gel130 hasbeen designed for use with wet laminating infusion and SPRINT® Tooling Systems, exposed to temperatures up to 130°C. It consists of a semi-liquid resin and a liquid hardener. The gelcoat has an extended backup time allowing the layup and curing of large moulds in one operation. The ease of application, sag resistance and good coverage results in high quality finish on the mould surface T-Laminate 130 has been designed for laminating moulds that will be used at temperatures up to 130°C.The low initial mixed viscosity allows thorough wetting out of the fibres and minimises air entrapment .It is compatible with SP’s range of Tooling Gelcoats and a working time of 3-4 hours at 20°C makes this product ideal for laminatings mall to medium size moulds. T-Prime 130 is a low viscosity, low exotherm infusion system specifically designed for tool production. The maximum operating temperature for this system is 130°C.T-Prime 130 has been designed for use with SP’s range of epoxy gelocats .Its long pot-life and extended gel times make this product ideal for medium to large moulds that can be infused within 6 hours Also Available a 160 degree system to compliment the range. Please contact Marineware customer services for further information SPRINT® Tooling MaterialsSPRINT® tooling materials are designed for high performance marine, wind energy and automotive customers. These tooling products will cure at 65°C and give an ultimate thermal performance of 160°C, and can be used with SP’s gelcoat products. A SPRINT® surfacing technology is also currently in development that will enable customers to achieve a high quality mould surface without the application of a gel coat.
