![]() Laminating SystemsSP pioneered the use of epoxy ‘wet’ lamination techniques for the production of large structures such as yacht hulls and wind turbine blades. SP laminating systems are now in their fourth generation and are built on many years of experience. The SP range consists of standard, commonly used laminating products, as well as systems with higher strengths and operating temperatures. Hardeners and modifiers give a wide variety of working times, viscosities and thixotropy. SP philosophy is to provide useful, cost efficient laminating systems that also take into consideration health and safety and environmental issues. SP 115
is a low viscosity, ultra-clear epoxy laminating system. It has been
designed for the manufacture of laminates such as those used in sail
and surfboards which are to remain unpainted, and where a very clear
finish is required. In this way colourful embedded graphics and
attractive fabric weave styles can be kept visible. Ampreg 21 has been
optimised for the manufacture of large composite structures using hand
layup, and vacuum bagging techniques. The relatively low initial mixed
viscosity of Ampreg 21 allows easy wetout of heavyweight
reinforcements. It has been formulated to give a good Health and Safety
product. Ampreg 21 has been designed to give excellent mechanical and
thermal properties from both ambient temperature cures, and moderate
temperature postcures (50°C).This system is available with a range of hardener speeds, from Fast to Extra Slow. Ampreg 22 is an epoxy laminating system from SP that has been developed from the successful and widely used Ampreg 20. It is intended for both wet lay-up and vacuum bagging processes and uses the most up-to-date epoxy chemistry available. Its long working time, low exotherm and low viscosity make it ideal for the manufacture of large, high performance composite structures. Ampreg 26 is SP Systems’ premium epoxy laminating system, and is particularly suitable for the manufacture of large, high performance composite structures. The product’s high laminate mechanical properties and high Tg’s achievable from modest post cures, make it well suited for heavily loaded applications, particularly those where a little extra thermal performance is required Please click on the links below to view and download our Product Data Sheets.
