Prepregs/Sprint
SP is a world leader in commercial prepreg technology and our range features performance solutions for the most demanding applications. These materials are used to build a host of exciting structures, from the world’s largest wind turbines to the fastest yachts on the ocean. The range of low temperature, hot melt epoxy prepregs can be cured using vacuum, press plate and autoclave cure processes, and have a long out-life at room temperature.
SP offer a variety of resin systems, with a full spectrum of properties to suit each application. Prepregs are monitored throughout the production process to ensure high accuracy and consistency of resin content. SP also offer different fibre reinforcement types and weights, depending on the requirement, including carbon, aramid and glass, in a unidirectional, biaxial or multi-axial format.
SP also has a complete range of hot melt epoxy adhesive films. These films are designed for bonding prepreg systems, but are also highly effective on other substrates. They are available in weights ranging from 100g to 450g. The films are supplied with a carrier as standard, and are available without a carrier on a made to order basis.SP prepregs and adhesive films offer high performance, reliability, quality and are one of the most cost effective composite solutions available.
SPRINT®
SPRINT® is one of the unique composite technologies
developed by SP. Not just a product range but a whole philosophy, it
encompasses the way the composite materials are manufactured and
processed. The result is a patent-approved, award-winning product
range, which offers exceptional finishing and performance properties.
SPRINT® materials consist of a layer of fibre reinforcement either
side of a precast, precatalysed resin film, with a light tack film on
one face. Unlike conventional prepregs, SPRINT® fibres remain dry
and unimpregnated by the resin until the curing process. This gives
SPRINT® materials their outstanding breathability, and achieves
autoclave quality laminates from vacuum bag processing.
